ARVADA, CO — A note left on a stolen vehicle helped Arvada officers arrest two car thieves Wednesday, police said. The car was reported stolen from Denver.
Officers saw the stolen white Jeep Grand Cherokee parked around 8:30 a.m. near West 58th Avenue and Field Street, close to Ralston-Central Park.
"Please don't tow! I went to get a tire and will be back shortly! Thank you!" read a note left on the vehicle.
The front tire had deflated and the rim was exposed.
So the officers waited at the Jeep, and, sure enough, the driver and passenger returned and were arrested. The two have been identified as Dustin Daniel Cordova, 37, and Amber Carey, 31, police said.
In a tweet, Arvada police posted a photo of the note and included the hashtag, #maybecriminallifeisnot4U.
