There were two mountain lion sightings in San Francisco in the last week. One was out in the boonies by a reservoir with a lot of wildlife around. No big deal. The other was in Golden Gate Park.
Now the park is decent size, but is right in the middle of the city. Coyotes are seen there with some regularity and are not really a hazard to humans. Mountain lions are something else entirely.
Depending on who or what they eat the mountain lion could accidentally OD or become seriously intoxicated. It might even hurt or kill one of the several dozen decent human beings who actually live in San Francisco, or worse yet, a tourist.
That's bad for business, almost as bad as a huge pile of human shit in the middle of the sidewalk, which is much more common.
