Medical mistakes cause 251,000 deaths every year, guns only 33,000 deaths

Research led by John Hopkins University Professor Martin Makary has just been reported which shows that medical mistakes are the third leading cause of death in this country, lagging only behind heart disease and cancer.
The John Hopkins research revealed that medical mistakes cause 251,000 deaths every year.
On the other hand, according to the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence, 33,000 people are killed by gunfire every year.
251,000 deaths vs. 33,000 deaths. That’s almost eight times as many people killed by doctors and nurses as killed by gunfire. Ban doctors, not guns!
