The crime-ridden, gang-infested and bankrupt shit hole of San Bernardino is engaged in an informal but interesting contest with the crime-ridden, gang-infested and recently bankrupt city of Stockton. The metric is the number of homicides in the city. Since Stockton is significantly larger in population than San Berdoo one would think that Stockton would have a leg up, but recent events game San Berdoo a major bump in the count. Nevertheless Stockton is still trying hard.
Juwan Small was one day short of his 18th birthday and one class shy of graduation from Cesar Chavez High School on Tuesday when he died in the street on East Swain Rd in north Stockton. He is #45 for the year on the tally board for Stockton. He was shot to death hours before a vigil to end gun violence began in Stockton. It doesn’t seem to be working, the same day there were two other people shot. They are in critical condition but likely to survive.
Violence is caused by violent people. Arresting them and throwing their happy asses in the slammer will make a serious dent in violence. It isn’t that hard to figure out.
