Colorado cop shoots bullet right into barrel of assailant's gun
by Bob Walsh
This little bit of strange went down in Jefferson County, Colorado recently. It was a police shooting with a truly odd outcome.
Deputy Jose Ramon Marquez got into a shootout on January 26 with two masked men in the parking lot of an apartment complex in Aurora. He was off-duty at the time, visiting a friend, when the two men attacked him in an apparent robbery attempt.
The deputy was shot three times but did return fire. One suspect, 17, took a bullet in the leg and is in custody. He is facing eight charges, most of them felonies. One of the shots the deputy fired from his .45 pistol actually hit the bad guy's gun square in the muzzle and sent a large chunk of the bullet up the barrel of the .40 pistol, jamming it and keeping it from firing again.
A second suspect is still at large.
EDITOR'S NOTE: Aw shucks, that ain't nothing. I used to watch Roy Rogers and Gene Autry do that all the time.
