Sen. Ted Cruz and former President Trump
I took advantage of early voting and cast my ballot today.
I held my nose as I voted for Trump. My vote was more a vote against Kamala Harris than a vote for Trump.
I
also voted for Sen. Ted Cruz. Polls show he is in a tight race with his
uber-left Democratic opponent. God, I hope Cruz is reelected.
I voted for the Republican candidates for congress, the state legislature and state-wide offices.
The
Texas ballot is what is known as a 'jungle ballot', one with far too
many candidates. The overwhelming number of candidates were those
seeking election as judges. In Texas judges run either as Democrats or
Republicans. I do not vote for judges because I am opposed to partisan
elections of judges.
I did vote for one Democrat and that was Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez. He's done a good job and I saw no reason for a change in office just because he happens to be a Democrat.
Unfortunately
Harris County is a Democratic stronghold. The only Republicans that
will be elected are those that represent Republican districts.
Considering my age, this is probably the last presidential election that I'll have the opportunity to vote in.
