Johnathan Diaz, a Lemoore, CA police officer, was killed in a shooting at a birthday party on Saturday.
Officer Diaz stepped in between a situation that was getting nasty between Ramiro Trevino Jr., a welfare fraud investigator, and Trevino's girlfriend. The situation went completely to shit and Trevino opened fire on Officer Diaz and his own father, Ramiro Trevino Sr. Trevino Jr. then killed himself.
Diaz was 31 years old and had three children.
Diaz was off-duty and a guest at the party when the shooting occurred. The department is considering this to be a line-of-duty death.
