Sen. Cory Booker announced his candidacy for president on February 1, the first day of Black History Month. In making his announcement he said:
“I believe that we can build a country where no one is forgotten, no one is left behind; where parents can put food on the table; where there are good-paying jobs with good benefits in every neighborhood; where our criminal justice system keeps us safe, instead of shuffling more children into cages and coffins; where we see the faces of our leaders on television and feel pride, not shame. It is not a matter of can we, it's a matter of do we have the collective will, the American will? I believe we do.”
The remark about children in cages and coffins is a slap at Trump for what has been happening at our southern border.
Booker has proposed using taxpayer funds to give poor children as much as $50,000 each to pay for homes and college. Only $50,000 each? That’s pretty niggardly. (That’s niggardly, not niggerly!)
That’s all we need ….. another Obama. Only this Obama is tilting further to the left than the original version.
Kellyanne Conway told reporters: “He often sounds like a Hallmark card.”
