TODAY IS PEARL HARBOR DAY

By Howie Katz

The devastation of the USS Arizona during the Dec. 7, 1941, attack on Pearl Harbor.

83 years ago on Sunday, December 7, 1941, the Japs conducted a sneak attack on Pearl Harbor with 353 warplanes.

They damaged or sunk all of the eight U.S. Navy battleships anchored there, as well as three cruisers and three destroyers. 2,400 members of our military lost their lives.

Fortunately for us, and to the detriment of Japan, our aircraft carriers were out at sea.

President Franklin D. Roosevelt called December 7, 1941 "a date which will live in infamy."

We should never forget!
