MAN DOES NOT TAKE KINDLY TO REFUSAL FOR GENERAL ASSISTANCE

Augusta City Center closes after angry man unleashes 100 live bedbugs

AUGUSTA, MAINE — A reportedly disgruntled man slammed a cup full of live bedbugs on a counter Friday afternoon inside Augusta City Center, causing all the bugs to come out of the cup and into the office while also prompting the building’s abrupt closure for the rest of the day.

One or more of the bugs landed on a city employee in the General Assistance office space, and City Manager William Bridgeo said action was taken to try to contain and recapture all 100 or so bugs. City Center, which houses the city’s municipal offices, closed shortly after the incident; and later Friday, a pest control contractor was in the building, spraying to try to kill any remaining bedbugs.

Bridgeo said the entire facility was closed as a precaution, especially because the man might have been to other parts of the building in addition to the General Assistance office area, where the incident took place.

Bridgeo said Augusta police were called immediately and located the man. Bridgeo said he signed a criminal complaint and trespass orders against him and he anticipated the man, whose identity was not immediately available Friday afternoon, would be charged with a crime.

Sgt. Christopher Shaw said Friday evening police were still working on the case and still deciding what, if any, charges would be filed. He declined to provide further detail, including the man’s name.

The man came into the General Assistance office and asked for a form to request assistance but was told by the city staff he did not qualify, Bridgeo said he was told.

“He whipped out a cup (full of live bedbugs) and slammed it on the counter, and bam, off they flew, maybe 100 of them,” Bridgeo said.

The bugs started moving around and spreading out.

Bedbugs have been a persistent problem in some buildings in the city, and they have been found in the city’s General Assistance office previously. The bugs are brown, flat and about a quarter-inch long, with a soft, rounded look. After a blood meal, they are dark red and larger. They feed on human blood but are not believed to carry disease.

On Friday afternoon, Ralph St. Pierre, finance director and assistant city manager, sprayed Windex, which Bridgeo said was what happened to be at hand and seemed to help immobilize the pests; and he used paper towels to pick up and dispose of as many bugs as he could.

Bridgeo said the spray used by the pest control contractor to try to kill the bugs Friday should be neutralized by Monday, so people will be able to return to the building.

A bedbug detector dog service is expected to come to the building Monday morning to look for bugs. If it doesn’t find any, the building will be opened to the public as usual.

“Those dogs are amazing, so if any bedbugs are left standing, we’ll know about it,” Bridgeo said.

What will be done if living bedbugs are still in the building depends on where they are found. Bridgeo said if one or more bugs are found only within the General Assistance office area, that office suite would be closed and those services moved elsewhere. If bugs are found in other areas, those areas would be closed off as well. Bridgeo said he doubted all of City Center would have be closed Monday.

Most of the bugs landed on a counter in the office, while others fell onto the floor.

Bridgeo, a municipal manager in various communities since 1976, said he’s “never had anything as yucky as this” happen previously.

The incident occurred around 2 p.m. and the building was cleared around 2:30 p.m.

Bridgeo consulted with Bob LaBreck, facilities manager, and decided to close the building for the rest of the day.

“It made sense at that point to close the building to make sure the public or employees don’t get exposed and take (bedbugs) home with them,” Bridgeo said. “They’re nasty little buggers when they take hold somewhere.”

The man had been to City Center previously Friday, apparently to complain to the code enforcement office about his former apartment on Court Street. Bridgeo said the man apparently showed the cup of bedbugs to a manager at his new apartment building on Water Street and the manager told him he couldn’t live there, and he had to leave. That’s when the man returned to City Center to seek assistance.

ENJOY THE EXCITING SCENERY ON THE ROAD FROM TIJUANA TO ENSENADA

Severed heads found on Ensenada scenic road reveal gruesome killings

Borderland Beat from Zeta Tijuana and Ex Mexicano
June 3, 2017

The scenic route to Ensenada, which winds and bends, with the summer breeze, contains some of the most beautiful, tranquil in the entire Baja state, and California's western coast. The vineyards and landscapes are enchanting in their peace, to stand at Miramar point and watch the waves breaking across the Pacific, to watch as sunset settles across the bay is healing and inspiring in it's casual, natural beauty.

The severed heads were found on the scenic road, close to Salsepuides Bay, in black bags, early on the morning of Monday, May 29th. Last month, near that same side of the road, I was staring out of the window, with the same awed gaze, childlike wonder, I often have when traveling, by train in France, ferry in Spain, or driven in an SUV back to Tijuana.

Valle was everything it's been described as, food that rivals the best kitchens of Tijuana, and L.A, hotels, naturalistic and creatively designed, and just the harsh beauty of nature, the way darkness falls with a heavy hand, the way it does not in the city. It was a relief to relax against the mountains, take in the vineyards at sunset, distance from the heart, the mind, the memories and thoughts that awaken you in the morning.

I read on Monday, severed heads, found on the highway, in black bags, and I paused. I felt sorrow for the victims, and the community, and also a thought of what had really happened. Why had this happened? It bore the now unmistakable signs of drug violence, disarticulation, cheap black bags, tossed on the side of the road, casual cruelty, which mercilessly appear in Tijuana.

Why this place? There are small colonias that decorate the interior of the Guadelupe Valley, and they are no more well of then those in Ensenada or Tijuana. It's with a guilty, heavy heart that I passed by the small stores, the school children, the little houses, amidst the luxuries and meals enjoyed by others. They are small and not densely populated, there is not much retail drug business to be had. Though, years of knowledge, has condemned me with the reality that severe violence and killing will be committed for the seemingly smallest of rewards.

Still, there is rarely violence, or mantas, or shootouts, or any of the signs in the Valle. But, this may have been a sign. I didn't write a story. I thought I had too, but I wanted to wait. Would blame be assigned? Would Zeta reveal a new emerging struggle for power as off shoots of Sinaloa backed players in Ensenada expanded their territory?

Would I betray my still fresh memories of Valle, and the people I met, places I visited, by writing with blunt, stylistic tones about unspeakable, yet not unspeakable violence, that could threaten their existence?

The victims were identified as retired teachers, a couple, living in nearby Colonias, Silvia Gonzalez Galindo, and Jose Roman Miranda, in their 60's. Their corpses were located in Sanchez Taboada, Tijuana, one of the hottest colonias in the city, where bodies appear near daily. They had been picked up on May 23rd, to go view a home for sale in Ensenada, by their friend, Francisco "N", also a teacher, in his early 50's.

Francisco was arrested Friday, as one of two men suspected in the killings, decapitations of the retired couple, whom had known their killer. There no motive given, a WhatsApp message to children related to the couple was received, stating "not to make waves", but no ransom message was ever sent, and the bodies were found a day or so later.

Later articles may detail why this couple was brutally killed, and dismembered, obviously, some of that was to conceal the crime, or try to have it lost in the sea of killings that take so many family members, friends, children from these communities. It's happened before, in cities across Mexico, black bags and severed heads, to disguise a personal crime, a crime of passion, a financially motivated crime.

There's a blackness that lurks in many, maybe most people. The victims died from neck injury from decapitation. Their bodies were tossed in Tijuana, their heads in Valle. Javier Francisco Arellano ordered the same fate for half dozen Rosarito Beach police officers, with whom he had a minor grudge, after they disturbed a narco bacchanal at one of his residences, in 2006.

A blackness that can consume, as the sun's descent does in the Valle, final, smothering all in its wake.

COPS FURIOUS AFTER WHITE NYPD SERGEANT IS INDICTED FOR SHOOTING BLACK BAT-WIELDING WOMAN

NYPD cops ‘target’ commissioner over officer’s murder charge

By Shawn Cohen and Natalie Musumeci

New York Post
June 2, 2017

NYPD cops — angry that a sergeant has been charged with murder for fatally shooting a bat-wielding Bronx woman — are circulating an image of a department firing-range target with Police Commissioner James O’Neill’s face superimposed on it, The Post has learned.

The firing-range image is supposed to be a nondescript drawing of a man holding a bat.

The doctored image started circulating among rank-and-file cops after Sgt. Hugh Barry was charged Wednesday with murder in the October killing of 66-year-old schizophrenic Deborah Danner.

Barry admittedly shot Danner inside her Castle Hill apartment after she threatened responding officers, first with scissors, and then a bat.

The morning after the shooting, O’Neill declared, “We failed” in regards to the incident, sparking mounting backlash within the department.

“This is what the guys feel about ‘a cop’s cop,’” a police source said, referring to the commissioner. “[O’Neill] wasted no time in throwing Barry under the bus.”

NYPD officials were not amused.

“It’s unfortunate some people have to resort to unprofessional and inappropriate behavior,” Assistant Commissioner Peter Donald said.

Ed Mullins, head of the NYPD’s Sergeants Benevolent Association, on Wednesday said O’Neill’s “reaction triggered the mayor to go on a 48-hour tirade, ultimately, I believe, impacting the jury pool here in the Bronx.”

Mullins has said the police firing-range target — which shows five male figures, including one armed with a bat — proves that Barry’s actions were justified.

“There’s no doubt he was following what any New York City police officer would have done [given] deadly physical force with a baseball bat. We’ve seen it. It’s taught in our training. He responded as he is required to do,” Mullins said Wednesday.

EDITOR’S NOTE: Furious they should be. If the sergeant had been black and the bat-wielding woman had been white, he would never have been charged. Barry will never get an impartial jury in the Bronx.

VACCINATION DRIVE KILLS 15 SCHOOL CHILDREN

by Bob Walsh

No, it wasn't a bizarre allergic reaction or anything like that. It was plan fucking stupidity.

IN happened in South Sudan, one of the most monumental shitholes on the face of the planet. They decided to vaccinate the rugrats against measles, which is not a bad thing. However, they used contaminated vaccines and the people who often administered the vaccines were children themselves, sometimes as young as 12 years old. They would normally use one syringe all day. The vaccine was stored in unrefrigerated containers. The dead children died from sepsis and toxic reaction to the contamination or cross-infections.

All the deaths were children under 5. Damn shame.

STRAW WARS

by Bob Walsh

The latest pronouncement from the People's Republic of Bezerkley is that plastic straws are evil. They are non-biodegradable and therefore should be banned from the surface of the planet, kind of like cow farts. Never mind the fact that paper (biodegradable) straws cost literally 8-10 times more than plastic and that some things, like milk shakes, don't do well with paper straws.

The city council is studying the matter and could vote on it next year. The liberal fascists in the city assert (probably accurately) that a significant number of plastic straws find themselves into waterways where they are ugly and cause problems, like ugliness. Bezerkeley city councilwoman, Ms. Hahn, asserts that "I'm really confident people will learn how to drink again without straws."

MAN CONFESSES TO SECRET LOVE AFFAIR WITH HORSE

Miniature Horse Lover Dodges Prison Term, Gets Probation For Illicit Encounters

The Smoking Gun
June 2, 2017

A Pennsylvania man who admitted having sex on several occasions with a miniature horse has pleaded guilty to his perversity, but will not spend any time behind bars, according to court records.

In a deal with prosecutors, Travis Wagner, 22, recently copped to a pair of misdemeanor charges--trespassing and sexual intercourse with an animal. Wagner was originally charged with burglary, a felony, in connection with incidents at a barn in Ephrata, a rural Lancaster County borough.

Wagner, pictured at right, was sentenced to two years probation and directed to pay nearly $2200 in fines and court costs. A judge also ordered Wagner to “have no contact with the victim and or victim’s family.”

Wagner was arrested last year after the horse’s owner contacted police to report that a man driving a Dodge pickup truck had been trespassing on his property late at night. The suspect, the owner said, had gone into his barn, which “houses cattle and a miniature horse.”

After identifying Wagner as the suspected trespasser, cops interviewed him at his residence. During questioning, Wagner confessed that he had entered the barn to have sex with the miniature horse on at least three occasions and “admitted to inserting his penis into the miniature horse for approximately ten minutes and subsequently ejaculating into the horse’s rectum.”

FATHER GIVES GUN AS GIFT TO DAUGHTER’S BOYFRIEND WHO ACCIDENTALLY SHOOTS HER TO DEATH

Tragedy as high school graduate, 18, 'accidentally shoots and kills his girlfriend while showing off a gun he got as a graduation present from the girl's father'

A teenager accidentally shot and killed his girlfriend while showing off a gun he was given as a graduation present Thursday night, according to police.

Memphis police said Brennan Fields, 18, was given the firearm as a high-school graduation gift by the father of his girlfriend, Lucinda Luna.

He was admiring the gift at the 19-year-old girl's home in Arlington, Tennessee, when he accidentally shot Luna in the stomach, according to WMC.

Luna was rushed to the hospital, but died from her injuries.

Shelby County Sheriff's Office officials said there are no plans to file charges against Fields.

'By all indications, there was no intent for this to happen,' spokesperson Earle Farrell told WMC.

Luna's neighbor and close friend Kara Stubblefield told WMC she is 'distraught' over the girl's sudden death.

About her friend, Stubblefield said 'she was always reading. Every time I went over there she was like "here you need to read this book."'

She also said Fields was experienced with guns, that he owned several and goes to the shooting range frequently.

'This is going to hurt real bad for him. Like he's not going to get over this for a long time. I'm just worried about Brennan really and her parents too,' Stubblefield said.
