COMMERCIAL RECALLS A TIME PAST

This Farmers' Insurance commercial reminded me about what happened to two cops back after WW2 when I was on the Galveston Police Department.

A couple of Galveston cops were working the night shift when they decided to get a little nap time. They parked their patrol car on an isolated spot on the islanfds east beach. They were rudely awakened by water rushing into their car. But the two cooping cops were trapped by around ten cars and could not escape the rising tide.

It seems as though while they were cooping other people intended to sleep in their cars on the beach. They decided they would be safe by parking close to and surrounding the police car.

In the morning wrecker drivers were quite busy and the now wide awake cooping cops had some explining to do to the chief.
